Erddig Muddy Trairers is the name, of the running club run by The National Trust on Saturdays as part of the 'Let the Outdoors Move You' schems run across National Trust properties across Wales who are able to offer a range of physical activies using the grounds  of the National Trust properties. In addition to this beginner runnnig group Erddig Hall also offers Nordic Walking, Pram Walking  (Pramble) and cycling.

The begiiner runnig group started in 2015 but really took off in 2016, and formed itself into the club, 'The Erddig Muddy Trainers' in 2016.  The group meets at the Dovecote at Erddig Hall at 10 pm every Saturday. As Erddig Hall now also runs a succesful Parkrun at 9 pm on Saturdays the two work together well and many of Muddy Trainers have now run in the parkrun or volunteered to help the parkrun.

The Erddig Muddy Trainers is led by volunteers who are all trained as run leaders. The present volunteers are Barry Hughes, Peter Varley and Joe Cooper. The group is adminstered by Laurel Smith who is the voluntter organizer at Erddig Hall.

Erddig Muddy Trainers and the Parkrun

Erddig Muddy Runners preceded the Parkrun at Erddig Hall. However the Parkrun is a great asset to the Muddy Trainers. Behind Wrexham AC we have had the msot runners and most runs at the parkrun. If you are thinking of doing the parkrun but don't feel ready to run %K yet them a few weeks trainig with the Muddy Trainers would be the ideal way to get ready for the parkrun. One thing we can teach you is running on the muddy paths

Here are e few records set by our runners

Most runs Rachel Nickerson  10

Faster female runner Sarah Evans

Fastest Male runner Carl Joprdan
